Teresa Theriot launched thebudgetqueen.com in 2008 in order to provide people with a centralized location to get valuable money-saving tips and advice. Her mission is to teach clients a systematic approach to live within their budget, while maximizing their income in order to meet their financial goals.
Teresa received a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. After finishing her degree she worked in various fields trying to find her niche, including design, insurance, finance, and management. In an attempt to find something better she even began her MBA. Realizing this wasn't the answer, she decided to stay home with her children. Teresa didn't want to loose the lifestyle that she and her family had grown accustom to living; she realized she had to cut back on spending. She had to figure out how to be more frugal. After reading countless books, scouring the internet, and cutting back on all of the bills, Teresa began to figure out ways to get everything they needed and wanted -- for less.
Her approach the system is different than most money-saving sites which teach a theory of save/scrimp now in order to live better later. Teresa's system allows people to live well now and later, without having to sacrifice. Because the response on her site has been so overwhelming, Teresa now offers Group Classes, Corporate Classes, and Specialty Seminars. She also offers private, one-on-one consultations.
